Mayor of London releases 13,000 extra tickets for NYE

The Mayor of London has announced an extra 13,000 tickets will be available for the New Year's Eve fireworks event, as a result of a new viewing venue - Waterloo Bridge.

The bridge will be opened up to ticketholders on the evening of 31 December, meaning more people will be able to catch the show. The announcement was made following consultations with transport bodies, emergency services, local businesses and other partners involved in the event.

Tickets will be available to book from 12 November.

Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, said: "As in previous years, our New Year's fireworks display is proving immensely popular and I am delighted we are able to add the new viewing area so that even more people can get to enjoy this spectacular event."

This year, the celebrations have been organised , which will encourage ticketholders to come together for the first ever New Year’s Big Resolution.

It also promises to host a 'unifying moment' at the event to raise awareness of the lives of vulnerable children around the world.

Other corporate sponsorship opportunities are also open to brands.  will work with the Mayor's office to produce the event for the 12th year.
