New York
In true American style, the world-famous celebrations in NYC’s Times Square demand a presenting sponsor. This year will see workout brand Planet Fitness take over the locale for a 'Judgement Free' New Year's Eve, distributing thousands of branded hats and balloons in its signature colours of purple and yellow to revellers.
Ahead of the evening, a ‘Wishing Wall’ has been erected on Times Square’s Broadway plazas and will remain in situ until 29 December. Consumers can write down their wishes for 2016 at the station, and their notes will be printed onto the petals of confetti released at midnight on the square.
Sydney

The landmark will be be illuminated by full-length projections at each end, showing photos, films and creative content from local artists and residents. The City of Sydney has partnered with charity Habitat for Humanity Australia for the event, and is working with agency Imagination to produce it.
Edinburgh

Like London, the event is being held in support of Unicef. Diageo will join forces with West Lothian buses to provide a free bus service home, which forms part of whisky brand Johnnie Walker’s Join The Pact responsible drinking initiative.
Dubai
The UAE city is famed for its extravagant NYE parties, only matched by the fireworks display. The 2014 event claimed the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest LED-Illuminated Façade on the Burj Khalifa skyscraper, while 400,000 fireworks were set off from 400 different locations.
The city is keeping plans for this year under wraps, however promises the event will be ‘even more spectacular than ever before’. Travel site Kayak voted Dubai as the number one city to experience NYE back in October.
