Kerridge will front a host of more than 160 local chefs and producers when he makes an appearance at the three-day festival. The Friday evening event, the first to take place in the festival’s seven-year history, will see the Michelin-star chef give cookery demos and participate in a Q&A session based around pub food.
SK Events told Event the rest of the line-up will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
A street food zone, an edible garden, a chocolate area, a pop-up restaurant and a producers’ marketplace will all feature over the rest of the weekend. Festivities are set to continue in restaurants, pubs and arts venues around the city in the week following the festival weekend.
Kerridge said: "I really like the sound of Liverpool Food and Drink Festival with the city's pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes and producers taking over Sefton Park for the weekend. The north-west is gaining quite a reputation for its booming food and drink scene and I'm keen to see what the city has to offer."
Denise Harris, director of SK Events, added: "Liverpool Food and Drink Festival is now widely regarded as one of the country's top pop-up food and drink events and we expect to attract more than 40,000 visitors this year. It's a huge honour for us to have Tom Kerridge at the event this year."
