Eckes-Granni argues that Tesco’s Yoo yoghurts are too similar in name to its own Yo brand of squash.

Tesco argues otherwise, and claims that consumers would not be confused by the two names.

The German company has now filed its opposition to the Yoo name with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO).

Eckes-Granini has held an EU trademark since May 2009 for its squash brand. Tesco is not commenting on the dispute and Eckes-Granini was not available for comment.
