Sainsbury’s continues its push of its Feed Your Family for £50 a week campaign with double-page spreads in the Daily Mirror, Daily Mail and The Sun.

Tesco features some of its Finest products: lamb, Cornish ice cream and Jersey Royals potatoes with facing ads in all the daily papers.

Lloyds TSB hopes to capture some attention for its interest rate tracker bond with an insert in the Guardian and other placements in The Independent and the Daily Express.

HSBC promotes its tracker mortgages in The Times, The Independent and The Daily Telegraph.

McDonald's promotes its Great Tastes of America series of sandwiches with ads in the Daily Mirror and The Sun.

British Airways announces a film scriptwriting contest in association with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts with a full page ad in The Times.

Akaihane, the central community chest of Japan makes an appeal for continuing disaster relief efforts in the Daily Mail.

Media Matters, a non-profit organisation that describes itself as dedicated "to correcting conservative misinformation in the US media", has placed an open letter addressed to James Murdoch in the Daily Express.

The letter appeals to Murdoch to use his new role [of deputy chief operating officer and chairman and chief executive of international operations] to reforming the company's "hate speech, illegal activity and misinformation", citing the News of the World phone hacking saga and the stance of Fox News as examples.
