Sony Ericsson to widen Dare brief

LONDON - Sony Ericsson is to strengthen its online presence across EMEA, and has appointed Dare to handle its digital activity in the region.

Sony Ericsson to widen Dare brief

The agency has been tasked with handling strategic development and creating online advertising to support a series of launches in Western, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Dare has worked on global digital projects for the mobile brand for the past five years, but it will now increase its focus on Europe - Sony Ericsson's biggest and most profitable market.

Last week Sony Ericsson appointed Lennard Hoornik, its former corporate vice-president and head of Asia Pacific, to replace Dee Dutta as global head of marketing.

Separately, the brand recently warned that profits for the first quarter of 2008 could be down on last year due to slowing sales of its mid- to high-end handsets across Europe.
