The matches, which will take place over two legs, beginning on August 15, are: Toulouse versus Liverpool FC; Spartak Moscow against Celtic; Sparta Prague take on Arsenal FC; and Crvena Zvezda will face Scottish Premier League runners-up Rangers.
The games are the latest additions to Irish broadcaster Setanta Sports' growing top flight football schedule for the 2007-2008 campaign, which begins tomorrow. This follows the signing of former BBC 'Match of the Day' commentator Des Lynam for the channel's live coverage of 46 Premier League games.
Lynam will join former Liverpool FC, Real Madrid and Manchester City midfielder Steve McManaman, former ITV presenter Angus Scott, and retired England player Les Ferdinand, in fronting Setanta Sports' presenter line-up.
Three of the Champions League matches will be screened in the afternoon and evening of August 15, with the Crvena Zvezda versus Rangers game to be played on August 29.
Michael O'Rourke, joint chief executive of Setanta Sports, said: "These games give football fans out there even more top class football on Setanta at a great value price."
The broadcaster announced at the end of last month that it was to supply its Barclays Premier League coverage via broadband for £7.99 a month. The full package, Setanta By Broadband, comprises Setanta Sports 1, Setanta Sports 2 and Setanta Golf.
