Robinsons shifted out of HHCL after Red Cell conflict

LONDON - The 拢6m Robinsons account is up for pitch as Britvic Soft Drinks has decided to end its relationship with HHCL/Red Cell, citing a conflict of interest with New York sister agency Berlin Cameron/Red Cell's work on Coca-Cola.

Pepsi owns a 10% stake in Britvic and, according to reports, pushed for the change on the account.

WPP Group-owned Berlin Cameron/Red Cell won the Coke Classic account in the US in February, prising the business away from Interpublic's McCann-Erickson after creating the latest ad campaign called "real", starring celebrities including Penelope Cruz.

HHCL/Red Cell, which was acquired by WPP in January, does not currently do any work for Coca-Cola in the UK. In March, it was revealed that Coca-Cola planned to run US advertising in the UK after local roster agencies Mother and McCann-Erickson failed to crack the Coke brief.

HHCL/Red Cell worked on the launch of Tango for Britvic, creating a series of celebrated and attention-grabbing ads until it lost the account to Clemmow Hornby Inge in February 2002.

The agency has stemmed a series of account losses including Tango and internet bank Egg last year, winning a place on the Sky advertising roster.
