Britvic hands top marketing job to operations chief

Britvic Soft Drinks has promoted Paul Moody, its sales and operations director, to the new role of chief operating officer handing him additional responsibility for category marketing and commercial development.

Category director Andrew Marsden and commercial director Roger Boyd will report to him. In addition to his current remit of customer management and operations, Moody will be briefed on new product development and what Britvic is calling the 'cultural development' of the business.

It is understood that Moody's broader role will free up managing director Stephen Davies to concentrate on the strategic direction of the business, which could mean the sale of Britvic to a larger company.

Britvic is one of the UK's biggest soft drinks businesses with brands including Robinsons, Tango, AquaLibra and Purdeys. It also markets Pepsi in the UK.

Moody, 45, has worked for Britvic for seven years. He was promoted to sales and operations director in August 2000.
