Reebok targets trainer addicts with iPhone app

LONDON - Reebok has launched an iPhone app that allows users to customise and purchase a pair of trainers through their mobile phones.

Your Reebok, created by digital agency Inside Mobile, uses the iPhone's touch, motion and GPS features to create personalised trainers with a selection of styles, materials, colours and text.

Users can then purchase the shoe online, which will range between £80-£110 depending on the materials selected, or share their creations with friends and post them online with GPS tagging.

The app is available for free from the , launching initially in the UK and US, with plans to expand to Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Ireland in the coming months.

Dusan Hamlin, managing director of Inside Mobile, said: "Reebok has been quick to grasp the potential of iPhone apps as a compelling route to market that can fuse branding and direct response goals.

"By marrying visually stunning design, personalised content and advertising, Inside Mobile has enabled Reebok to engage consumers as well as drive sales."
