Queen superstars Brian May and Roger Taylor, and the likes of Biffy Clyro, also attended the evening where guests were welcomed by a drinks reception surrounded by palm trees.
ANGP was responsible for the production of the awards, while branding from each of the sponsors was visible around the venue, including tables loaded with Relentless energy drinks, Pistonhead beer, Plastichead wine and Fireball cinnamon whiskey.
For the first time, Nigel’s Food and Design catered for the 500 guests, who were served Thai marinated chicken with Asian noodles and a lemonbalm cheesecake with blueberry crush.
Nigel Smith, founder of Nigel’s Food and Design, told Event the night for him and his 42 staff was a success.
He added: "I’m into foraging and put a lot of twists on food and dishes. The lemonbalm for the cheesecake was from my garden."
Award winners included Queen, who was presented with the Kerrang! Service to Rock award by Al Murray. They were applauded by the audience who also chanted We Will Rock You, while Slipknot took an alternative route to the stage by climbing over tables.
Rock and metal DJs ensured the night was brought to a suitably noisy close.
