Working with agencies Vision Nine and Cow PR, the bus visited "the best selfie backdrops" the Spanish city has to offer, including the Magic Fountains and the Gothic Quarter. As the bus pulled up, passengers were invited to jump off, pose for a selfie and share the pictures online.
The bus was equipped with a preview of Samsung’s new S6 device and selfie sticks. A series of British surprises, such as a visit from the Queen’s Guards at the Sagrada Familia and a busking Freddie Mercury and Brian May, were designed to make the Brits feel at home.
The stunt was designed to celebrate Spain and New Zealand’s addition to Three’s Feel at Home destinations, where UK smartphone owners can use their existing allowance to call, text and use data at no extra cost.
Tom Malleschitz, marketing director at Three, said: "Now that Three customers can use their phones in Spain at no extra cost, we expect British holiday makers in Spain to go selfie mad this summer, and what better way to kick it all off and allow them to enjoy all that free roaming has to offer than with our Selfie Tour Bus in Barcelona."
