The brand is keeping the date that the knitted character will take part in the ‘Monumental Mission’ under wraps. Monkey will be supported in his endeavour through live, social, PR and TV channels by TV personality Lucy Mecklenburgh, football pundit Robbie Savage and rugby star Thom Evans.

'Team Monkey' will be encouraging consumers to support Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day by picking up a limited-edition pack of PG Tips. Unilever has pledged to donate £1m to Comic Relief through Persil and the tea brand.

Kate Hearn, brand manager for PG Tips, said: "We’re proud to partner with Comic Relief and support such a brilliant charity with a heavy-weight marketing investment and exciting campaign activity.

"We’re perfectly positioned to work alongside our fans to raise money for this fantastic cause."
