One Events has hired Phillipa Woodgate, a former party planner at Create Food and Party Design, to head up the new division.
"The concept of One Dining has moved quicker than we could have imagined," said Andrew Morrow, head of One Events. "Our original thinking was to satisfy a market that we lost to hotels, but the brand and ethos of the new division has had really positive feedback."
Morrow said One Events will not be abolishing its preferred catering list, and will continue to market its listed caterers "to clients that it feels they are suited to".
The division officially launched on Friday (7 June). Guests on the night sampled canapés including pulled Suffolk lamb ‘Sheppard’s pie’ and smoked haddock kedgeree cake.
Dinner included Cornish sea trout tartare with pea mousse to start, followed by Suffolk lamb rump with jersey royals, broad beans and mint relish.
Woodgate said: "It is really exciting to be starting a catering division for One Events. The commercial success that One Marylebone and One Mayfair already have, and the relationships the team nurture with clients and fellow industry professionals alike makes my job an easy one.
"People are genuinely intrigued about what we are doing, and really want to hear what we can bring to the table. I am hugely excited for the future on One Dining and look forward to watching it evolve."
