Nike wins at London International Advertising Awards

LONDON - Nike's 'tag' spot has won top honours at the London International Advertising Awards, adding another trophy to the cabinets of Wieden & Kennedy and production house Gorgeous Enterprises.

Apart from the "tag" advertisement, which shows adults playing tag in various urban settings, ads starring celebrities were the big winners of the night.

BBDO New York was the most honoured agency, with its "New York miracle" ad, starring actors such as Robert de Niro, Woody Allen, Billy Crystal and Kevin Bacon, taking home two prizes, and the "now and then" ad for Pepsi, starring Britney Spears, winning an award for the best non-alcoholic beverage category. It won a total of seven awards.

Barclays' "sold" spot, starring Samuel L Jackson and directed by Jonathan Glazer, who also directed 'Sexy Beast', was named as the best banking/financial ad and also picked up the award for best direction dialogue. UK agencies took home a total of eight awards.

Another film director, the American Spike Jonze, who was behind the film 'Being John Malkovich', saw his work for Levi's "crazy legs" take away the best direction visual award.
