
Ewen Sturgeon, the Publicis Sapient executive who left last year citing concerns about the agency/client model, has joined Wunderman Thompson in an international role. Next week, Sturgeon will start in his newly created position as chief executive of Europe and South Africa, reporting to global chief executive Mel Edwards.
Anna Hill, Disney UK’s most senior marketer for the past nine years, left the company on 30 April. A Disney spokesman confirmed her exit, but declined to comment further or explain who was now in charge of UK marketing. Colin Gottlieb, one of the leading British media agency entrepreneurs of his generation, is to step down as chief executive of Omnicom Media Group in EMEA and chairman of OMD. Gottlieb made his name as co-founder of Manning Gottlieb Media, which he launched in 1990 and sold to Omnicom in 1997.
BT is folding its brand and marketing function into its Consumer division. From June, it will be part of the remit of Marc Allera, chief executive of BT Consumer, with chief brand and marketing officer for BT Group, Zaid Al-Qassab, reporting to Allera. Al-Qassab currently reports to Mike Sherman, group director of strategy and transformation.
Camelot has appointed Keith Moor, currently chief marketing officer at Santander, in the same role. Moor will join the National Lottery operator in September and report to Camelot chief executive Nigel Railton. He has worked at Santander and its predecessor companies Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley for 24 years
Nate Thompson, vice-president and creative director at Jack Morton Worldwide, has joined Amplify as creative director. He reports to executive creative director Jeavon Smith, leaving Jack Morton after six years.
Technicolor has hired David Patton, former global president of Y&R, as global president, customer experience and advertising. The French company, which was previously known as Thomson, acquired MPC in 2004 and The Mill in 2015.
Alexa Gooder, head of government partnerships at Fuse, is joining M&C Saatchi to set up a partnerships function. Arriving in June, Gooder will initially focus on public- and third-sector clients.
Jamie Swango has left her role as global marketing director at Deliveroo, three months after the food-delivery company brought in a marketing chief above her. Swango has joined The Craftory, an investor in emerging consumer goods brands.
Leo Burnett has announced that Mark Tutssel, executive chairman of the network, is retiring after a 34-year career with the company. He will be staying on until the end of June.
Long-standing D&AD president Dick Powell is to step down in September, with chief executive Tim Lindsay set to succeed him. Lindsay’s move after seven years in the role means D&AD is now in need of a chief executive. It has appointed The Talent Business to assist in its search.
McDonald's has appointed Gareth Helm as UK and Ireland chief marketing officer. Helm was previously CMO at Zoopla owner ZPG, which he joined in 2015 from Moneysupermarket, where he was brand director. Helm succeeds former vice-president, marketing and food development Emily Somers, who left McDonald's late last year.
Oliver has appointed Jason Bailis as UK group chief operating officer. Bailis was most recently global COO at Ebiquity. Before that, he spent a decade at Publicis Groupe, holding roles including COO at Razorfish International and DigitasLBi, and chief integration and optimisation officer at Publicis Sapient.
Beano Studios has appointed Mark Talbot as chief creative officer. He will oversee the business’ expansion into scripted live-action comedy and drama for teens and young adults. Talbot joins from Hat Trick, the TV production company behind Derry Girls, Have I Got News for You and Outnumbered, where he was head of comedy development.
Property tech start-up OneDome has appointed Paul Troy as chief marketing officer. Troy was at Confused.com from 2015 to 2018, first as chief marketing officer and then in an advistory role. He has also held senior marketing roles at Moneysupermarket Group and O2.
OneDome has also hired Jon Bishop as vice-president of marketing. He was previously marketing director at cryptocurrency exchange Huobi Global and has worked at companies including eBay and PayPal.
Vice Media has promoted Lucy Delacherois-Day from commercial director to publisher of its fashion and culture magazine i-D. Delacherois-Day joined Vice in 2017 after a decade at Condé Nast. In addition, i-D has named Alastair McKimm as global editor-in-chief.
The & Partnership has hired Martin Cox as creative director. Cox joins from Spark44, where he had worked for eight years, the last five as global creative director.
Chapter, the Birmingham-based agency that is part of The Mission, has appointed Dan Burman as chief executive. He joins from Cogent Elliott, where he had worked for 12 years, including the last five as director of digital and technology. Former chief executive Mike Rose is becoming chairman.
Brand experience agency Imagination has appointed Sarah Campbell as creative strategy officer. Campbell was most recently director of innovation at Macmillan Cancer Support and, before that, held roles at Barclays and Mercedes-Benz.
Good Agency has appointed Nilesha Chauvet as client services director. She was previously European business director at The & Partnership.
The Kite Factory – which rebranded from MC&C last month – has promoted James Smith to client services director. Smith joined the agency in 2011 as a media assistant, after completing a master’s degree in management, and has received a series of promotions, most recently to senior account director in 2017.
Kraft Heinz’s chief marketing officer, Eduardo Luz, will leave the company at the end of May, the food company has confirmed. Adam Butler, currently president of beverages, snacks and desserts, will take over on an interim basis.
