Monster.com consolidates global media into WPP

NEW YORK - Jobs website Monster.com has consolidated its $150m global media planning and buying business into WPP-owned Mediaedge:cia.

The WPP Group agency, which worked on the account in markets including in the UK, was awarded the US portion of the account on the basis of its European work on the brand.

According to reports, the entire account was switched to the agency without a review and has seen Mediaedge:cia add all Monster.com's US online and offline media work to its billings. The business was previously split between Mediaedge:cia and IPG's Deutsch.

Last month, appointed BBDO Worldwide to its creative account, resulting in BBDO New York and Atmosphere BBDO, the network's North American digital agency, heading up the advertising business.

In the UK, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO is likely to managed the account, although no formal decision has yet been made.
