BBDO wins $155m global Monster ad account

NEW YORK - Online job site Monster.com has appointed Omnicon Group's BBDO Worldwide to handle its $155m (拢77m) global advertising account, following a drawn-out pitch process which began at the start of May.

BBDO New York and Atmosphere BBDO, which is BBDO's North American digital agency, will lead the work, replacing incumbent Brand Content of Boston.

BBDO's first work for Monster is expected to appear in early 2008 to coincide with the traditionally busy job search season.

Brand Content has been the lead creative agency on the business for the past two years.

BBDO will be Monster's fifth lead agency since 2000. The most recent review came just four months after the appointment of Joan Blackwood as chief marketing officer.

Sal Iannuzi, CEO and president of Monster, said that selecting BBDO was "another important step as we continue our plans to restructure, rebuild and expand the Monster brand".

Monster originally called a pitch for its pan-European ad account back in May and was expected to make an appointment at the end of July with DDB London, TBWA\London, McCann Erickson, JWT and 180 all receiving requests for proposals.

In August, after three rounds of pitching, Monster decided to take the review global.
