The refurbishment, which took place over the course of the summer, involved the re-styling of the venue’s upper and lower rooms incorporating an open-plan layout, new contemporary furniture and LED lighting, along with dark wooden floors.
The Mermaid’s kitchen has also been moved in a bid to increase the number of covers the venue can cater for seated dinners. The lower river room has increased its capacity from 80 to 180 people, while the upper river room has more than doubled its capacity from 140 to up to 320 guests.
Alicia Duncan, general manager at The Mermaid, said: "The river rooms command some of the best views of London, and with the new, contemporary design, we are confident that they will be even more appealing to event organisers.
"The extensive investment in the spaces is part of our ongoing plans to further strengthen our market presence and help us approach new customers."
