
The inaugural Comic Con Ireland will be hosted at the RDS in Dublin on 12-13 April 2014 and will be based on the company’s popular culture event format, which focuses on areas such as video games, movies and comics.
Bryan Cooney, event co-organiser, said: "A lot of fans have been asking us when we were going to do a Dublin show, so we decided it was high time to take the MCM brand across the Irish Sea."
MCM also announced its decision to expand its Scotland Comic Con next year, which will take place across a whole weekend instead of one day, following exceptional advance ticket sales for the 2013 event.
This year’s Scottish event takes place this Saturday (7 September) at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow.
In July, the company revealed . This resulted in MCM expanding the 2014 event to a two-day show.
MCM currently hosts its Comic Con expo in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Scotland and Telford.
