The show, which took place between 23 and 25 May, welcomed 101,600 attendees in total, a 15% rise on the October show’s headcount (88,000), and a 45% lift compared to a year ago.

Bryan Cooney, partner at MCM Expo Group and the show’s co-organiser, said: "This has been the most successful MCM London Comic Con on record - in fact, the largest event of its kind ever held in the UK. The soaring attendance not only reflects a growing worldwide interest in comic cons and the ever-expanding range of attractions and activities at our show, but also the strength of the community that has built up around it over the years."

The next MCM London Comic Con will return to Excel London on 24-26 October.
