LONDON - McDonald's has been linked as the official branded food outlet at the London 2012 Olympics and it has been suggested that other food brands will be excluded from the Olympic Park.

According to the Financial Times, this has sparked criticism from health and environmental campaigners. London 2012 has said that a range of foods would be available to reflect the diversity of cultures attending the event.

However it is unlikely that any other offerings would be allowed to carry company branding, according to the FT.

The news comes in the same week that the government launched its food security strategy that promises action to encourage restaurants to highlight calorie counts.
