McDonald's UK benefits from 8% more customers

LONDON - Fast food chain McDonald's has announced a 12% sales increase in the three months to 30 September, marking its 14th consecutive quarter of growth.

McDonald's UK benefits from 8% more customers

UK said it served 8% more customers during the same period. It strongest performing products included Big Mac meals and items from its breakfast menu.

Its UK performance was notably stronger than its global sales, which grew by 3.8%.

Steve Easterbrook, chief executive of McDonald's UK, said: ‘Some of the sales growth is around the flight to value. People still want to eat out, but they are more discerning about what they spend when they have less money in their pocket.'

In the UK, 80% of McDonald's restaurants are now open from 6am, and more than 300 are open 24 hours.
