Watch McDonald's 'Favourites' TV campaign

LONDON - Fast-food chain McDonald's is celebrating the 35th anniversary of its arrival in the UK with a nostalgic campaign that focuses on its best-known menu items.

The 'Favourites' campaign, which breaks on 10 October during ITV's The X Factor, features items including the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Chicken McNuggets and French Fries - all of which appeared on the chain's first UK restaurant menu in 1974.

The campaign, which uses the strapline ‘There's a McDonald's for everyone', shows different people visiting a restaurant at varying times.

The TV ad, by Leo Burnett, is intended to reflect how the brand has evolved over the years.

Jill McDonald, McDonald's chief marketing officer for the UK and Northern Europe, said: ‘Many people in the UK experience a sense of nostalgia about our brand and feel passionately about our core menu. This campaign hones in on the different types of McDonald's customers and explores their experiences.'

The campaign will also encompass print, press and online activity.
