Simpson joins from Australian Business, where she was head of strategy. She will be responsible for developing the financial services side of Ipsos UK's loyalty division.
In addition, she will work with existing clients including BACS and APACS on Ipsos UK's Consumer Payment Survey.
Alam, who has spent four years working with Orange, will be charged with developing business with the major mobile networks and ISPs. He will also work with a key ISP client to track market changes and the key drivers of loyalty in this dynamic sector.
The two will be based in Ipsos' Harrow offices and will report to Gailynn Nicks, managing director of Ipsos Loyalty.
Nicks said loyalty is playing a growing role in many UK businesses.
"Companies are becoming increasingly aware of the need to build real loyalty with customers, through the combination of service, a good value proposition and a desirable brand and we are committed to meeting this growing demand," he said.
Ipsos is one the of the top five research companies in the UK with an annual turnover of £50m.
Last week, it acquired independent market research company Mori for £88m. The newly merged business will have one of the most powerful public affairs and special research offerings in the UK.
