Intel teams with 4oD to reach targeted audience

Intel has become the first advertiser to provide free content via Channel4's new 4oD service.

The Intel branded "Video Lounge" offers users free access to full-length Channel4 shows, streamable to their PC.

Users will be able to download content including full length episodes of Big Brother, Desperate Housewives, Teachers, Derren Brown, Drop the Dead Donkey and Spaced.

Intel will be able to use the Video Lounge to target fans of certain TV shows online. With a combination of ad formats and targeted editorial placements throughout Channel4.com, Intel will be able to link through a wide audience and link users through to its own site. The technology firm also plans to use behavioural targeting to reach users who have already viewed programmes or registered with 4oD. The Video Lounge will be accessible directly from the 4oD home page, from one of the four expanding video spots, and will be promoted on Channel4.com.

Simon Shipley, UK and Ireland Brand Manager at Intel, said: “This move fits with ‘Multiply’, our broader campaign focussed on how consumers can get more from our products. The 4oD audience is a great reflection of our broad target market. We’re also hoping to reach kids and teenagers who don’t have their own TVs.”
