Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, VisitScotland and VisitBritain will jointly operate the DMH for both UK and international press and broadcasters between 20 July and 4 August 2014.
The venue features a 125-seat auditorium and will house a large working press area, media conference spaces and interview zones throughout the Games. The IET Glasgow: Teacher Building will also provide destination information on Glasgow, Scotland and the UK.
Justin Livesey, venue manager at IET Glasgow: Teacher Building, said: "This is an important time for Glasgow and we are excited to be involved in what will be an incredible experience for the entire city. We have the experience and team to play host to media during Glasgow’s hosting of the Games and we are ready for the anticipated volume of people that will walk through our doors.
"We have witnessed the fervour that such an event can do for a venue and a city like London and we are prepared to do what it takes to ensure our role here in Glasgow during 2014 is successful."
Councillor Gordon Matheson, leader of Glasgow city council and chair of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: "The 2014 Commonwealth Games will have a global audience of more than 1.5 billion and there will never be a better time to showcase Glasgow’s sporting, cultural and event credentials on a global stage.
"Every step must therefore be taken to maximise the opportunity afforded by the city’s hosting of this mega sporting event and the resultant media interest and I am certain that - together with our colleagues at VisitScotland and VisitBritain - we will make a huge success of the destination media hub."
