The David Attenborough exhibition will be presented on state-of-the-art, glasses-free 3D screens inside the Greenpeace CliMAX Dome. It will include previously unseen footage of the wildlife presenter’s journeys, as well as clips from new films.
To highlight the charity’s ‘Save the Arctic’ campaign, a giant animatronic polar bear puppet named Aurora will be the focal point of the Glastonbury field. Also making an appearance is fashion designer and activist Vivienne Westwood, who will be speaking and answering festival-goers questions on climate change.
A replica of the Greenpeace ‘Arctic Sunrise’ ship will also be towed into the open area. Children and adults will get the chance to climb aboard and listen to the story of the Arctic 30, who were detained by the Russian military last year, through an immersive audio installation. Artistes such as LA rock band War Paint will perform on the ship.
The event also features the country’s biggest mobile skate ramp, a farmers’ market, the Greenpeace café and an all-night silent disco.
