Glow at Bluewater has announced it will be holding a programme of live music, comedy and theatre this summer, including performances from pop group The Saturdays.

The ‘Summer Live at Glow’ programme will run from 26 July to 11 August in Glow’s upper hall.

Glow’s venue will be transformed into a 2,700-seat auditorium that will host a wide range of acts. This will include musical performances from Blake, Amelia Lily and The Loveable Rogues.

As part of the move, Glow has signed an exclusive agreement with Ticketmaster to sell the tickets for the shows.

The announcement follows a successful run of live events for the venue in late 2012, including James DeGale’s European boxing title fight in October; the UK Streetdancing Championships in November; and two audiences with Jenson Button last December.

Michael Watton, venue director at Glow, said: "As our successful trial at the end of 2012 demonstrated, there is great demand from consumers for live events at Glow, and I am confident this will create a significant additional revenue stream for us.

"Summer Live, however, takes things to a new level, with a purpose-built auditorium for the first time, a critical mass of acts targeting Bluewater’s entire catchment demographic, and our partnership with Ticketmaster. I expect that Summer Live at Glow will serve as template for regular and varied live events complementing consumer and business-to-business shows in Glow’s annual calendar."

Comedians from BBC’s Mock the Week and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, as well as Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats, will be making an appearance as part of the live events programme.

Glow has already had a run of successful shows this year, including Mercury Events’ second Baby and Toddler Show, which experienced a 29% increase in visitor numbers and a 40% growth in revenue, compared to its debut at the venue last October.
