The upper hall has been transformed into a 2,700-seat arena for the 17-day festival of comedy, music and live entertainment.

Launching on July 26 was the Glow Comedy Roadshow, featuring comedians such as Richard Herring, Lucy Porter and The Boy with Tape on his Face, from shows such as Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

On July 28, it was the turn of children’s television presenter, Justin Fletcher, who entertained thousands of children and their parents in a sell-out show called Justin Live.

Michael Watton, venue director at Glow, said: "This has been a very positive start to Summer Live at Glow. Not only did we have great audience numbers but the atmosphere raised the roof for every show.
 
"Visitors’ enthusiasm for Glow as a venue for entertainment has also been matched by the endorsements received from the artists themselves. This is the beginning of a very exciting chapter for us."
 
Summer Live at Glow runs until August 11 and will feature performances from bands including The Saturdays.
