All 85,000 tickets available via the were snapped up by music fans in a record-breaking frenzied 24-hour buying spree. Last year, it took 10 weeks for the tickets to sell out.
The tickets had gone on sale at 9am yesterday, Monday March 31.
The sell-out comes as many acts have been confirmed for the line-up for the festival, which takes place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset, from June 27-29.
That said, the fact that Radiohead and REM have been officially confirmed to play will be more than enough for many fans. Rumours that Prince was to play have proved false, but The Polyphonic Spree, The Flaming Lips and The White Stripes will be appearing.
Tickets are already being offered for resale on internet auction sites with price tags rising to £360 a pair.
It is the first year that Emap's aloud.com has handled the ticket sales for Glastonbury, and the deal marked the relaunch of Emap's online ticket service.
Gigi Dryer, head of ticketing for aloud.com, said: "Winning the ticketing business for Europe's biggest music festival was a perfect way to relaunch aloud.com. For us to help Glastonbury to a sell-out within 24 hours is a truly amazing feat. We are absolutely thrilled. About 70% of the tickets were sold online with the remainder being sold through our dedicated phonelines."
She added: "This is a great vote of confidence in both our new ticketing service and Glastonbury, which is one of the world's most prestigious music festivals."
This year's Glastonbury Festival should see 2,000 different performances at 25 different stages and marquees.
