Future hires associate publisher for Games Radar Network

LONDON - Specialist publisher Future has appointed Mark Cantwell, digital marketing manager at games publisher THQ, to the newly-created role of associate publisher of its Games Radar Network.

Cantwell will work closely with publishing director James Binns and Future's in-house developers, editorial and advertising teams to further increase the reach and influence of the company's growing online games portfolio.

Future's GamesRadar Network includes GamesRadar.com, CVG.co.uk and the games industry focused Edge-Online.com.

The network now attracts over 10m unique users a month, according to Future.

Before working for THQ, Cantwell spent three years at Future across the company's digital advertising business, working for sites including BikeRadar.com and GamesRadar.com.

Binns said: "Mark will be a valuable addition to our senior team. In his year at THQ, Mark has grown his insights into the mechanics of the videogames industry and digital communications.

"With our portfolio of sites now attracting more than 10m unique users a month, we are committed to further driving growth -- beginning with a major push around video content and social offers.

"Mark will be an essential part of this development and it's great to have him back at Future."
