The company is aiming to increase its database of workers from 1,500 to 2,000 people by April this year. Since December it has increased its regional staff casting days to ensure it has the extra 500 staff available.

Phil Edelston, co-founder of Mash, told Event: "We run a community of approximately 1,500 staff nationwide and due to the additional demand this year we are extending this to 2,000. Since Christmas we have been implementing a structured recruitment strategy to recruit new staff and also train up existing staff to up skill them into management positions in the field."

"Obviously this all comes with its challenges, but the way in which we have structured our talent department over the last few years and the bespoke technology platform Moogle that we use can deal with this additional capacity."

All of the staff will remain on the database after the Olympics finish in September. Edelston told Event: "A lot of the staff will not be specifically hired for Olympic work, but rather the increased demand that we are experiencing this year."

"We are two months into the recruitment drive and we have hired approximately 10% of our quota - bearing in mind we only hire on average 66% of the people we cast," said Edelston.

He added: "Our challenge is to not only recruit such a large group of staff but also induct and train them, to ensure our clients are getting the quality they have come to expect from us."

Mash Marketing has delivered approximately 1200 projects and more than 110,000 staff days since it was founded in 2004.
