Event TV: Taylor Herring unveils UKTV's chocolate Cumberbatch

Yesterday (1 April) saw creative agency Taylor Herring unveil a life-sized chocolate version of the actor Benedict Cumberbatch to celebrate TV channel Drama's launch on the on-demand service, UKTV Play.

The actor was selected for the effigy following a national poll that named him as ‘Britain’s dishiest TV drama actor’.

The sculpture was carved out of thick, hollow Belgian milk chocolate and weighed 40kg. Once the chocolate had set, the team defined Cumberbatch’s features and dressed him on the red carpet.

Benedict ‘Chocobatch’ will be available to view at Westfield Stratford City until Friday (3 April).

Adrian Wills, general manager of Drama, said:"With Drama launching on UKTV Play this Easter, it was the perfect opportunity to pay homage to the fantastic talent we have on the channel, including of course, Benedict Cumberbatch. Hopefully he’ll make it through Easter weekend in one piece."
