Energy Saving Trust appoints Tangible Data to target fleet managers

LONDON - The Energy Saving Trust (EST) has appointed direct marketing and data specialist Tangible Data to target vehicle fleet managers at businesses and organisations to offer them free environmental reviews.

The agency has developed an email and telemarketing campaign to raise awareness of the reviews, which assess the environmental impact of individual companies' transport arrangements and then offer advice on lowering running costs, reducing environmental impact and improving corporate social responsibility.

Tangible Data has created EST's first prospect database and is managing the email and response analysis elements of the campaign.

The agency carried out a review of the trust's customer database then used its Magellan campaign management system to build a prospect database from cold data, which it segmented into two parts -- UK organisations and businesses employing between 250 and 500 staff and those employing more than 500.

The agency then used six different test email messages and, based on the results, is rolling out two email message pushes per week until the end of September.

Magellan is also being used to track and monitor responses and update the database as the campaign develops. The system has been installed across EST's marketing department for use in future campaigns.

Nigel Magson, Tangible Data's managing director, said: "Magellan in its bespoke form for EST will provide the organisation with the ability to manage its new prospect database for all future marketing campaigns for both online and offline.

"They can target with specific selections, counts and broadcast emails from the desktop without having to rely on a third party."

Robert McKinnon, EST's head of business and community marketing, said: "We have been working with Tangible Data to identify and gain greater understanding of businesses and their profiles, to enable effective targeting with our marketing campaigns.

"Tangible Data have also been supportive with our online and offline marketing campaigns, providing strategic direction and integrated solutions."

EST's fleet review project is funded by the Department for Transport.
