According to web analytics specialist WebTrends, internet users are embracing the new browser which was launched at the beginning of the month, although it falls far behind the numbers currently using Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
According to a September 10 study by Web User magazine Internet Explorer still holds a 71% share of the market, followed by Firefox at 20%, Apple's Safari at 7% and Opera and Chrome tied at under 1% each, but the competitors are slowly gaining ground on the Microsoft browser.
WebTrends recently updated its On Demand software to incorporate Google Chrome into its customer's reports, which now enables customers to track users that searched for their site through Chrome in the same way as other existing browsers.
Christian Howes, digital solutions architect at WebTrends said "It's absolutely crucial to any business with a web presence that they have a clear view of which browsers visitors are using for a number of reasons including accessibility, usability and security."
