Chris Evans launches CarFest

CarFest will take place at Laverstoke Park Farm from 25-26 August. Well-known as a petrolhead, Evans says the two-day event is his idea of "the perfect family festival".

Sets of ‘Maginificent Sevens’ cars all worth over £1 million will parade in a hill climb led by Evan’s own set of seven Ferraris. Visitors can check out the vehicles in car galleries or buy a car in a series of auctions to raise money for charity. Classic cars will be on sale at The Pride & Joy Sale auction on the first day while The Sunday Best Sale on the festival’s second day will focus on cars valued at £25,000 and over and is expected to bring in collectors and celebrities.

Music acts like Texas, The Feeling and Razorlight are confirmed to perform at the show along with ‘dancing’ JCB diggers and aerial plane displays from The Blades.

Food at the festival will have a distinctly competitive theme: the Cakes vs Pies event will see 100 piemakers and 100 cakemakers compete while visitors can buy the ‘knocked-out’ pies and cakes. Chefs will select 100 small producers of fine food and drink to be offered a stand in the Britain’s Best Pavilion.
