The activity, which has been created by Billington Cartmell, spans national radio and posters. Media planning and buying has been handled by OMD.

There will be more than 100 different posters tailored to individual pubs using the line 'South Africa - 5631 miles' or, for example, 'The Nag's Head - within one mile. Get In There'.

In addition to the on-trade posters, outdoor posters launching on 7 June will be aimed at the off-trade and will use the strapline 'Bring it home', alongside offers in major supermarkets.

Two 30-second radio ads will run nationally either the day before or on the day of England games, with the first match against the USA scheduled for 12 June.

Paul Davies, director of brands and insight at Carlsberg UK, said: "Team Talk has struck a real chord with England fans and this final rallying call will give a boost to the on and off-trade as the waiting ends and the tournament begins."

The ad, created by Saatchi & Saatchi, also features adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and cricketer Sir Ian Botham, who combine to deliver "Probably the best team talk in the world" to the England team.
