Carbon Trust appoints Tequila\London for digital and direct

LONDON - The Carbon Trust has appointed Tequila\London to handle the government-funded agency's digital and customer contact account, following a two-stage process.

The , which is headed by former Shell engineer Tom Delay, was set up by the government to promote responsible energy usage and lower carbon levels in the UK.

Tequila London has been awarded contracts for the Carbon Trust's digital and direct relationship accounts, and will be asked to develop a digital marketing strategy with customers. The agency was chosen as part of the organisation's marketing and communications review.

The Carbon Trust said Tequila London would also work across a variety of digital and online platforms to create a relationship marketing campaign for existing customers.

Peter Hambly, director of marketing and communications at the Carbon Trust, said: "The issue of climate change is top of the agenda for business and consumers today, which holds some exciting challenges and opportunities for the Carbon Trust and our delivery partners."

In March, the Carbon Trust split its £12m media buying account between Universal McCann and Carat. Universal handles the organisation's TV, press, radio, cinema and sponsorship accounts, while Carat focuses on online media and outdoor activity.
