Capscan wins addressing contract for The Loft Shop

LONDON - The Loft Shop, supplier of fittings and furnishings for loft conversions, has chosen Capscan's Matchcode Data Capture software to handle all of its incoming customer address data.

The software package, which will be used by all 28 of The Loft Shop's UK retail outlets and merchant sales teams, will supply the company with access to an up-to-date address database of more than 27m searchable records.

Prior to using Capscan's technology, The Loft Shop's order processing team had to manually record addresses from faxes, which presented the problem of often being illegible. The frequent mis-typings led to failed or late deliveries, creating a subsequent loss of business.

Jon Frost, IT manager at The Loft Shop, said: "We operate on a guaranteed next-day-delivery promise, so accurate data and complete address data is crucial to meeting that promise."

"We selected Matchcode Data Capture because it offered the best overall package in terms of functionality, flexibility, value for money and technical support."

The Matchcode Data Capture software works by allowing users to partially enter an address and bringing up a list of potential matches supplied from the Royal Mail's Postcode Address File.

Terry Hiles, managing director of Capscan, said: "Using Matchcode Data Capture, the Loft Shop will significantly speed up its order processing, eliminate re-keying mistakes as well as capturing accurate and complete address data, ensuring the swift service it provides is consistent and hassle-free."

The Loft Shop follows Data8 in using Capscan's Matchcode Data Capture package.
