The attack on the national media came after weeks of headlines and television programmes about his affair with former PA Rebecca Loos and model Sarah Marbeck.
Beckham spoke at a press conference in Sardinia as the England international squad prepare for June's Euro 2004 championship.
He said he had considered not talking to sections of the press following the coverage given to the allegations made against him by the two women, but in the end realised he had an "obligation to talk to the fans and that's why I do it".
Beckham has denied the allegations that he had an affair with Loos, calling it "ludicrous" and described the alleged two-year affair with Marbeck as "absurd and unsubstantiated".
"I've made it clear that with two papers the way I and my family have been treated is an absolute disgrace because, at the end of the day, I'm a nice person and loving husband and father," he said.
He added: "I've been called a bad father, a bad husband and my wife's been called a bad mother. Things always hurt that are said about my family. For people to call my wife a bad mother is unbelievable."
In the wake of the affair and speculation that Beckham would make a return to England after only a year with Real Madrid, Beckham has said that he will stay in Spain and that his wife and family will finally move out to join him.
His attacks on the media have been slammed by PR guru Max Clifford, who has been representing Loos and helping her to earn an estimated £1m. Clifford said the attacks were a bad move.
He told the ITV News Channel that his advice to Beckham would have been not to attack the press.
"The advice I would have given to David is: don't attack the messenger if you don't like the message. In other words, you can not use the media and then be petulant and childish when they say something you are not happy with. No one has total control of the media," he said.
In a statement, the News of the World, which broke the story, said it stood by its Beckham story "100%".
