Sky One scores 2m with Loos as Beckham legal bid fails

LONDON – Sky One pulled more than 2m viewers for its interview with Rebecca Loos who told how she was "besotted" with David Beckham, after the footballer's legal team failed to halt the broadcast.

With a strong showing in multi-channel homes, the Loos interview peaked at 2m and attracted an average audience of 1.65m. The viewing figures made it the highest rated show on Sky One in the last six months and one of the channel's highest rated shows ever.

Beckham's lawyers had been battling up to the last minute to halt the programme that saw Sky News anchor Kay Burley probe Loos on her affair with Beckham. Sky One is thought to have paid more than £150,000 for the exclusive interview.

The former PA said she was "besotted" by Beckham and that he was an "amazing lover" and when in the bedroom the pair could not "keep their hands off each other".

Bisexual Loos said that almost as soon as the relationship had started it became purely sexual and that this left her feeling cheap and used.

"It was clothes off, get the action done and out. I felt like a whore, I felt really cheap, used. And I thought why am I doing this? I adore him and I still do."

She told Burley how upset she was when the affair ended and, despite insistence by the Beckhams that there is no truth in the allegations, Loos stuck to her story.

She questioned why the Beckham's were contacting lawyers and asked: "What are they consulting their lawyers for? What can they do?"

She insisted she was telling the truth as she described the first time the pair got together after a visit to a nightclub in Madrid.

"We were just locked into each other all night conversation-wise, other people noticed...we just connected. I think the chemistry between David and I was so strong...people were aware and they weren't very happy," Loos said.

Loos told how Beckham has suggested that they slip away together back to his hotel and began kissing in the chauffer-driven car. "A bit later on, it dawned on me what he had asked me and I did want to go back with him."

In the bedroom Loos told Burley that Beckham was an amazing and generous lover. "He seems to know what he's doing," she said.

Loos detailed how the pair had slept together six times and had continued their affair by "sex text".

Beckham is well known for his love of texting and has appeared in ads for Vodafone set in Spain showing how it is done.

On Victoria Beckham, Loos said she did not expect any sympathy. "I think it's bad enough what I've done with David. I think the problems were in their marriage long before I came into the picture."

During the interview Loos said there was one very intimate detail that she knows about the England football captain, and said she would only divulge it if the Beckhams ever tried to sue her.

"If I ever need to talk about that it will be in court, not on television," she said.
