Beat the Brief moves up a gear with heat three brief

The final six acts taking part in the third heat of Beat the Brief, taking place at London's Café de Paris on Monday 22 September, will have to create a performance around a sports car launch for dealers.

The spoof brief will be for the launch of a new vehicle called HALO, described as an affordable sports car aimed at young single professionals, with the tagline ‘A car that looks good, sounds good, feels good - a car for all the senses’.

Acts taking part in the third heat of the competition, organised by Sternberg Clarke in partnership with Event magazine, will have to adapt their performances to fit this brief, which will be for the after-dinner part of the event to encapsulate the brand values of the car.

The car has been described as ultra-modern, full of all the latest electronic gadgets and available in a range of pastel colours. It is also a hybrid and eco-friendly vehicle, able to run both on electricity and non-leaded petrol.

Event will announce the six shortlisted acts in due course. A panel of industry experts will be judging entrants in the third heat, including Adam Sternberg, director at Sternberg Clarke; Samantha Edwards, news editor at Event magazine; and Andrew Birnie, general manager at Café de Paris.

Judges will select two acts on the night who have most successfully executed the brief, with the audience voting for their favourite. The winner of heat three will join heat two winner and comedian Chris Turner and a cappella and beatboxing group BeatVox, which came top in the first heat, to compete for the winning title at the final taking place at this year's Event Awards on 2 October at Troxy in east London.

Make sure you secure you place at the third heat of Beat the Brief 2014 by emailing Adam Sternberg.
