BBC's 'My Family' still a hit with 5.2m viewers

LONDON - A quarter of the available viewing audience tuned in to BBC One's long-running sitcom 'My Family' last night, giving it an average audience of 5.2m in its half-hour slot.

According to unofficial overnight figures, 'My Family' beat ITV's long-running Bafta-winning drama 'The Bill', which pulled in an average 21% of the audience.

'Kirstie's Homemade Home', in which the Channel 4 'Location, Location, Location' star has swapped encouraging people to trade up their properties for improving the ones that they already own, received 10.4% of the 8pm audience on average, with 2.2m viewers.

In the 9pm slot, Five's heavily promoted show 'The Mentalist' performed well for the broadcaster, with nearly 10% of the available audience and 2.2m viewers.

However, ITV1 stalwart 'Taggart' was the winner, with an average of 19.3%, an audience of 4.3m.

BBC One's 'Crimewatch', had nearly 4m viewers, or 17.8% of the average audience.
