BBC Three commissions mobile, online and TV drama

LONDON - The BBC is launching a new comedy-drama following the lives of a girl band, which will run on mobile phones, social networks and the show's own BBC website before transmitting on BBC Three.

'Mouth to Mouth' follows the highs and lows of the three members of girl group Cat's Eyes through individual monologues.

It stars Ayesha Antoine from BBC One's 'Holby City', Pippa Duffy from online drama series 'Kate Modern' and Anna Nightingale, who previously starred in Channel 4's 'Snowdon and Margaret: Inside a Royal Marriage'.

BBC Three has commissioned Avalon Television to make 'Mouth to Mouth' and it is scheduled to launch later this year.

The multiplatform production is written by Karl Minns, whose credits include 'Touch Me I'm Karen Taylor' and 'T-Rexx N Flipside'.

Minns will also write all supplementary online content, which will expand the narrative beyond the broadcast show.

Danny Cohen, BBC Three controller, said: "BBC Three is committed to producing a steady stream of innovative and creative multi-platform projects.

"The latest of these, 'Mouth to Mouth', is all about powerful writing and great acting talent. The essentials of quality content are not going to change, whatever the platform."
