BBC One's Hustle goes out on a high with 5.7m viewers

LONDON - BBC One's 'Hustle' beat off the competition with 5.7m viewers tuning in for the final episode of the fifth series, 200,000 more than tuned in last week, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The final episode, which saw the 'Hustle' team outwitting a group of their former victims who were out to get revenge with their own scam, pulled in a 23.4% share of the 9pm-10pm audience.

BBC Two's 'Victorian Farm' came in second in the ratings battle, pulling ahead of ITV1's 'Piers Morgan on ...' series, with 3.8m viewers and a 15.5% share.

The final episode of the series, which has followed three historians as they spent a year emulating the life of Victorian farmers, saw the trio enjoying some home-brewed beer at the post-harvest party.

The third and final part of ITV1's 'Piers Morgan on ...' series, which saw Morgan in Hollywood trying to discover why some British actors make it over there and some don't, pulled in 3.5m viewers and a 14.2% share.

Five's 'Soho Blues' documentary series, last night charting the progress of pickpockets on Oxford Street, netted 1.5m viewers and a 6.1% share.

It beat Channel 4's 'A Very British Storm' documentary following an IT consultant whose passion is chasing tornados, hurricanes and storms, which attracted 1m viewers and a 4.1% share of the audience at that time. Including Channel 4+1 figures it reached 1.2m viewers.
