Ampersand bags £60m Historic Royal Palaces contract

Caterer Ampersand has won a five-and-a-half year £60m public catering contract for Historic Royal Palaces.

From October 2011, Ampersand will provide public catering services at Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace.

As part of the contract, Ampersand will also open a new café at Kensington Palace and a waterfront restaurant at Tower of London.

Ampersand is part of catering group CH&Co.

"This contract is a significant milestone for Ampersand," said CH&Co managing director of commercial businesses Alison Tyler.

"We have been in this sector for the last six years, ever since we first won the business at the Royal Institute of British Architects."
