JWT was shortlisted twice (once for outdoor and once for digital) for its "A living river" work for HSBC, which turned the 194-metre sky bridge at Gatwick Airport into a sound installation mimicking China’s Yangtze river.

Adam & Eve/DDB has also been nominated twice: once for "Tiny dancer" – the spot for John Lewis Insurance featuring a reckless but charming ballerina – and another for the Financial Times’ "Happyish International Women’s Day".

Bartle Bogle Hegarty London is also in the running for CIFAS’ "Data to go" campaign, the fraud prevention service which used hidden cameras to capture customers’ reactions to identity fraud.

Brothers & Sisters has also earned a place on the shortlist for its "Sunny" campaign for Sunny, the short-term loans company, which aimed to show how laid-back the brand is.

And Mother London is also in the running for its "Epic dance off" campaign for Moneysupermarket.com. The campaign, which launched with the "Epic strut" ad featuring twerking businessman Dave last year, was ±±¾©Èü³µpk10’s campaign of the year for 2015 after it earned widespread fame in traditional and social media.

Judging for the Big Awards – the annual celebration of creative excellence in advertising – is taking place this week.

An awards ceremony celebrating the best work of the year will take place at London's Grosvenor House on Wednesday, 19 October.
