Spotted in: Abu Dhabi

Six Stormtroopers landed in the capital of the United Arab Emirates ahead of the film’s regional premiere today (16 December).

They were welcomed at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi and will greet and mingle with guests at the second worldwide premiere of the film.

Spotted in: Leytonstone

Stormtroopers and other characters invaded Grove Green Road last Saturday (12 December) as Waltham Forest Council unveiled a series of Star Wars-inspired murals by urban artists Wood Street Walls.

The event was designed to celebrate the work of former Leytonstone resident Stuart Freeborn, a British make-up artist who worked on the original trilogy, and is credited with creating the Yoda character. A blue heritage plaque was placed on his old home.

Tesco hosted a range of Star Wars activities within 268 of its stores across the UK last weekend (12-13 December) to celebrate the impending arrival of the latest film in the franchise.

Shoppers were able to take part in themed treasure hunts, create Star Wars masks and visit the creative station, which hosted colouring-in activities and Lego building. The activities were devised by N2O.

Spotted on: A French telescope

Ok, not actually on a telescope, rather a telescope dome has been turned into a Stormtrooper. According to Mashable UK, the telescope dome at the Observatoire du Pic du Midi de Bigorre in the Hautes-Pyrénées in France has been painted to look like a Stormtrooper by French graffiti artists.

Spotted at: A Bulgarian football match

Not just one but hundreds of Stormtroopers were spotted at CSKA Sofia’s football stadium in Bulgaria last week. Fans donned Stormtrooper masks and held a giant Stormtrooper flag aloft in a Star Wars-themed display.
