ACC Liverpool contributes £200m in its first year

Liverpool's Arena and Convention Centre (ACC Liverpool) claims to have contributed £200million to the city's local economy in its first year.

"We originally estimated that the venue would deliver £100million to the local economy - for everyone from hoteliers, restaurateurs and cab drivers - but we have more than doubled that," said ACC Liverpool chief executive Bob Prattey.

The venue, that comprises the 11,000 seat Echo Arena and the BT Convention Centre, hosted events such as the MTV Europe Music Awards and the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
